Our story begins within agencies and the search industry, shaping our careers from the outset. With over a decade of experience in this space, our passion for making connections between companies and individuals ignited. With high ambitions of establishing our own recruitment firm, fate led us to in-house opportunities that were impossible to resist. My journey began in the staffing industry, where I quickly realized the satisfaction of matching individuals to their dream jobs. This initial passion led me to transition into Executive Search where I  delved deep into various organizations, gaining invaluable insights into their operations and the specific profiles they were seeking.

As my career evolved, so did my desire to grow as a leader. I took on the challenge of leading a sales and recruitment team for an IT Professional Services organization. I learned the  value of nurturing and empowering teams to reach their full potential, recognizing that a strong, high-performing team is the backbone of a company's success.

Destiny had more in store for me!  Unexpectedly, an inspiring recruiting leader from Shopify extended an opportunity to join one of the world's fastest-growing companies. I accepted the challenge of a leadership role in-house recruiting with Shopify.

Over the next six years, I held various senior leadership positions within Talent, including leading Shopify’s global Talent Acquisition strategy as they expanded into APAC and EMEA. I contributed significantly to Shopify's unprecedented scaling, witnessing its growth from under 2000 to over 13,000 employees. This experience not only honed my leadership skills but also enhanced my ability to identify and attract exceptional talent. It instilled in me the importance of aligning with an organization's mission. Guided by a shared purpose, I excelled in discovering like-minded individuals who were exemplary for Shopify.

Today, I am in a unique position, armed with knowledge from both the search business and the high-growth of Shopify. It’s now time for me  to share my valuable insights with other incredible organizations and help them experience success through finding great talent.  My mission is to help identify and nurture exceptional talent, and empower excellence that supports company missions.

Luke Cassidy
The founder of Careers with Luke, a bespoke recruitment and coaching agency focused on Ireland, UK and Europe, Exemplify Talent are delighted to partner closely with Luke as an Advisor for Global expansion and hiring across International Markets. 

After completing a Masters in Digital Media and working with start ups in Ireland within the Marketing and eCommerce space, Luke jumped aboard a little rocketship called Shopify as one of the first 20 hires in Europe. After spending a some time in a Leadership role within the European Support team he pivoted to the world of Recruitment and hasn't looked back since.

Since pivoting, Luke has hired for roles across EMEA, APAC and North America, with experience ranging from entry level high volume recruitment to bespoke Executive Leadership roles. He also spent time as one of the foundational TA Leaders with Shopify Logistics - building and scaling the Commercial hiring process from the ground up.

Luke is passionate about candidate experience, diversity and inclusion, talent sourcing and building strong, long lasting partnerships between TA and Hiring Managers.
